The “DigiCon IV: Advertising from 8 Perspectives” event, organized by the Department of New Media and Communication at Fenerbahçe University's Faculty of Communication, took place on Friday, October 24, in Room BL0-1, B Block. The event was coordinated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Dilhan Apak, a faculty member of the department, and featured Hisar Uyar, Founder & President of Ahtapot Agency, and Varol Döken, Creative Partner & CCO of Ahtapot Agency.
During the event, Uyar and Döken shared with students how advertising has transformed from traditional media to digital platforms, highlighting new industry dynamics and the evolving role of agencies. Their presentation traced the journey of Ahtapot Agency from its founding to the present, using the octopus metaphor to illustrate the strategic value of a multi-channel (8-armed) advertising approach for brand communication. Participants also gained practical insights into industry practices through examples of digital campaign management, the evolution of creative processes, and current applications in the field.
At the conclusion of the program, Asst. Prof. Dr. Dilhan Apak presented certificates of appreciation to Hisar Uyar and Varol Döken for their contributions. This event marked the fourth meeting of the DigiCon series, organized by the Department of New Media and Communication to strengthen industry collaborations and enhance students' hands-on experience.
