Faculty of Communication Participates in Book Launch and Forum on “Artificial Intelligence and the New Direction of Journalism”

Prof. Dr. Gülay Öztürk, Dean of the Faculty of Communication at Fenerbahçe University, attended the event organized by Anadolu Agency together with students from the Faculty. As part of the event, the book “Artificial Intelligence and the New Direction of Journalism: Media Literacy in the Digital Age”, edited by Dr. Nabat Garakhanova, was launched.

In her chapter in the book, Prof. Dr. Öztürk examined the transformation of the media field from an interdisciplinary perspective, discussing IQ, EQ, digital intelligence, artificial emotional intelligence, and digital empathy within the context of journalism.

Prof. Dr. Öztürk also spoke at the Artificial Intelligence Forum held as part of the event, addressing the impact of artificial intelligence on the journalism profession, news production processes, and media literacy from various perspectives.

Students from Fenerbahçe University’s Faculty of Communication also took part in the event, gaining valuable insights into both academic and industry perspectives. The event contributed to ongoing discussions at the intersection of academia, media, and technology, further strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration.
