Frequently Asked Questions

Students who successfully graduate from the architecture program are given the professional authority of ‘Architect’.

2.  Is it necessary to have drawing ability for the architecture department?
The field of architecture uses the design idea and all the forms of expression necessary for the idea to come to life as a tool. Freehand drawing in architecture is only one of these forms of expression. Although freehand drawing ability can be an advantage for the candidate to express himself, it should not be forgotten that it is not sufficient on its own and can be developed over time. In the context of the intellectual and technical dimension of architecture, in addition to freehand drawing, the rules of technical drawing, which are the common communication tools of basic design fields, the programs and modeling programs in which these rules are applied are learned during the education. While various methods are applied to develop freehand drawing techniques during the education (workshop, sketches, etc.), elective courses in the curriculum allow students to develop different drawing skills.

3.  Which programs will I learn during the education period?
A wide variety of visualization and drawing programs such as 3Dsmax, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Rhinoceros 3D, Adobe Photoshop, Lumion are learned. There should be awareness that these programs are one of the student's self-expression tools, just like freehand drawing. We believe that it is important for students to learn methods of improving themselves in modeling programs and programs and to be able to adapt what they have learned to other possible technologies in the future.
