Lateral/Internal Transfer Application

Applications can be submitted in person at the Student Affairs Directorate or online at https://ois.fbu.edu.tr/ogrenciler/yataygecisbasvuru/form. Applications sent by mail or courier will not be accepted.

Important Information Regarding Application Procedures:

  • Applications for undergraduate programs in the 2025-2026 Spring semester are evaluated based on the central placement score.
  • Applications for associate degree programs in the 2025–2026 Spring semester are evaluated based on the central placement score and GPA.
  • Lateral transfer applications from universities abroad or from the TRNC will not be accepted for undergraduate programs in the Spring semester.

Conditions for Central Placement Score Based Applications

If the central placement score of the student in the year they enrolled is equal to or higher than the base score of the diploma program they wish to transfer to, the student can apply for a transfer based on their central placement score, including the preparatory class.

Conditions for Inter-Institutional Transfer Applications

Inter-institutional lateral transfer is conducted between equivalent diploma programs at the same level within higher education institutions. For an inter-institutional lateral transfer, the student must have a minimum GPA of 60 out of 100 (2.29 out of 4) for the semesters completed in the program in which they are enrolled. Applications are evaluated using at least 40% of the applicant's GPA and the ÖSYS/YKS score from the year they enrolled in higher education, according to the program's scoring system. Applications can be submitted for the second semester of associate degree programs.

Conditions for Intra-Institutional Transfer Applications

Intra-institutional transfer procedures are carried out in accordance with Article 9 of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Bachelor's Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions".

Conditions for Transfer Applications from Abroad

Lateral transfer procedures from abroad are conducted in accordance with Article 14 of the “Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions”. Spring semester lateral transfer quotas from abroad are applicable to first-year, second-semester associate degree programs.

  • Document stating that the candidates who will apply from evening education programs to first education programs with a grade point average are in the 10% bracket
