‘Standards and Accreditation Work for Turkish Preparatory Centers: The Case of DÖDAK’ Event Held at FBÜTÖMER

Fenerbahçe University Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (FBÜTÖMER) organized an online event titled “Standards and Accreditation Work for Turkish Preparatory Centers: The Case of DÖDAK” via Microsoft Teams on May 28, 2025.

The event featured Prof. Dr. Nezir TEMUR, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Language Learning Preparatory Centers (DÖDAK), as the keynote speaker. The event was moderated by Lecturer Egemen Ozan SÖNMEZ, Director of FBÜTÖMER, and began with an opening speech by Fenerbahçe University Vice Rector Mehmet Yıldırım ÜÇTUĞ.

In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Nezih TEMUR provided an in-depth overview of the establishment of DÖDAK, its current initiatives, and the accreditation procedures in the field of Turkish language teaching. He emphasized the importance of quality assurance and standardization across Turkish preparatory language centers in Turkey.

The event attracted around 100 participants, including academics, administrative personnel, and language education experts from various universities. Attendees gained insights into DÖDAK’s role, evaluation criteria, application procedures, and institutional preparation phases.

FBÜTÖMER stated that through such events, they aim to strengthen quality standards in teaching Turkish as a foreign language and increase collaboration between institutions.
