The 21st International MENA 2025 Conference, held in Istanbul, aimed to support academic research on the economies of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and to discuss key issues such as sustainable development, energy policies, financial markets, and regional development from an interdisciplinary perspective. The conference brought together academics, researchers, and policy analysts working in related fields.
Within this framework, three faculty members from the Department of Economics and Finance at the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences contributed to the conference with their academic presentations.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Bilge Çağatay empirically examined the relationship between uncertainty, energy transition, and sustainable development in selected MENA countries in her paper titled “Uncertainty, Energy Transition, and Sustainable Development: A DCC-ARDL Analysis for Selected MENA Countries”.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Zühal Özbay Daş focused on the impact of agricultural technologies on farmers’ income levels in her study titled “Farming the Future: The Impact of Technological Adoption on Farmers' Income”.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Ceren İlkay Soylu Küçükgöncü addressed the political economy of collective action within the context of environmental conflicts in her paper titled “The Political Economy of Collective Action: Lessons from and for Environmental Conflicts”.
