Industrial Design

According to the World Design Organization (WDO), industrial design is defined as "a strategic problem-solving process that drives innovation, builds business success, and leads to a better quality of life through innovative products, systems, services, and experiences". An industrial designer is a professional qualified to design products intended for industrial production in accordance with user needs and market demands. Industrial designers consider principles such as human interaction, ergonomic suitability based on anthropometric data, health and safety, manufacturability, sustainability, functionality, usability, and accessibility throughout the design process.

The Industrial Design Program at Fenerbahçe University aims to educate designers capable of developing user-centered, sustainable, and innovative products, systems, services, and experiences. In this context, the program seeks to equip students with the ability to address global challenges by anticipating the evolving needs of society, collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary stakeholders, and employ contemporary technologies (such as digital modeling and interactive systems) in creative and innovative ways.
