The Master of Science in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation program is designed to educate expert physiotherapists who can develop preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative approaches based on scientific foundations to improve individuals’ quality of life. It aims to train professionals capable of effectively applying research methods and contributing to the advancement of the field. The program is designed to provide students with the capacity to conduct scientific research, analyze and interpret data, and integrate these skills with clinical practice.
As an interdisciplinary program, it encompasses musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and pediatric rehabilitation, as well as exercise science, biomechanics, motor control, and ergonomics. The program seeks to prepare highly qualified specialists who can address health and mobility problems at both individual and societal levels, and who are able to transfer current scientific developments into practice.
Admission Requirements
Applicants who have graduated from undergraduate programs in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at universities in Türkiye or at foreign universities recognized through an equivalence certificate issued by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), and who hold the professional title of Physiotherapist, may apply to the Master of Science in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation with Thesis program under the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. Applicants whose undergraduate education is in fields other than Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation are not eligible for admission to the program.
Applicants are required to obtain a minimum score of 55 in the quantitative score type of the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES), or hold an equivalent score from an international exam recognized by YÖK, taken within the last five years.
Turkish citizens who have completed their undergraduate studies abroad are required to obtain a certificate of equivalence from YÖK for the recognition of the institution from which they graduated. This certificate must be submitted during the university registration process.
Admission Requirements for International Students
International applicants who have graduated from undergraduate programs in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at universities in Türkiye or at foreign universities recognized through an equivalence certificate issued by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), and who hold the professional title of Physiotherapist, may apply to the Master of Science in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation with Thesis program under the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. For graduate programs taught in Turkish, international applicants must either be graduates of a bachelor’s or graduate program taught in Turkish at a higher education institution in Türkiye or abroad, or present an official certificate demonstrating a minimum B2 level of Turkish language proficiency, issued by Fenerbahçe University Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center, Yunus Emre Institute, or another Turkish language teaching center of a university in Türkiye.
