Fenerbahçe University Sheds Light on the Careers of Tomorrow with Three “Future Careers” Events

Fenerbahçe University brought together expert academics, industry representatives, and alumni from three different fields as part of its “Future Careers” event series, designed to help prospective students and young people prepare for the professions of the future.

The first event in the series was held on July 20 at Metropol AVM under the title “Becoming a Data Scientist.” Moderated by Prof. Dr. Sinan Apak, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the event featured Asst. Prof. Dr. Bilge Serdarer Kuzu, Head of the Department of Data Science and Analytics, industry representative Dr. Hıncal Topçuoğlu, and alumna Ayşe Ebrar Tepeköy. The speakers shared insights into career opportunities in data science, industry expectations, and the future of the profession.

The second event was held on July 30 at Fenerbahçe University’s Blue Hall under the theme “The Future of Communication and Media in the Digital Age.” Moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Esra Pelin Güregen Dereboyu, the event brought together Prof. Dr. Başak Sarıoğlu, Head of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising, Yusuf Eksik, Founder of Keepkind Advertising Agency, and alumna Ayşe Mina Yeşil. The speakers discussed digital communication, the new media ecosystem, and transformation across the industry.

The final event in the series was held on August 4 at Kadıköy Youth Arts Center and focused on applications of artificial intelligence in physiotherapy. Moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Başar Öztürk, the event featured Asst. Prof. Dr. Anıl Tosun, who discussed the physiotherapy profession and its areas of practice, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şaziye Seçkin Yılmaz, who shared information on the professional fields of speech and language therapists. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tansu Birinci and Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, Lecturer Muhsin Dölek evaluated applications of artificial intelligence in physiotherapy and rehabilitation and discussed the transformation it may bring to the healthcare sector in the future. Alumni Physiotherapist Nihat Güllük and Speech and Language Therapist Abdülrrahim Yazgı also shared their educational and career experiences with participants, inspiring students with their professional journeys.

Through the “Future Careers” event series, Fenerbahçe University brought participants into contact with emerging career fields across different disciplines while once again highlighting the importance of collaboration among academia, industry, and alumni.
