The FİZYOMUN’26 event, organized for the first time in Türkiye with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, was held from May 17 to 19, 2026, and hosted by the University of Health Sciences. Fenerbahçe University’s Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation participated in the event, which brought together representatives from six universities.
A Model United Nations (MUN) event is a simulation in which students represent different countries, institutions, or stakeholders to address real-world issues through diplomacy and solution-oriented strategies. At this event, Fenerbahçe University was represented by Prof. Dr. Arzu Razak Özdinçler from the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation as an advisor, Kiana Ghaffary and Kimiya Alikhani as delegates representing Russia and New Zealand, and Berat Adaş as an assistant coordinator. The delegates served on two separate committees. The topic assigned to the Russian delegate was “The Use of Sports for Rehabilitation Among People with Disabilities”, while the topic assigned to the New Zealand delegate was “Keeping Children Physically Active in the Digital Age”. Prior to the event, the students gathered comprehensive information from their faculty advisors regarding the regulations and practices of the countries they represented. The committee sessions were conducted in four phases. During the first two phases, delegates delivered opening remarks outlining their countries’ visions on the topics and expressing their views on the proposed motions. In the final two phases, reports were prepared and closing presentations were delivered.
Through this event, students gained experience in representative responsibility, public speaking, negotiation and compromise, leadership and teamwork, academic speaking and writing, and career awareness. The Fenerbahçe University team successfully represented the university across all committees and roles.
