May 14 Pharmacy Day Events Held

Fenerbahçe University’s Faculty of Pharmacy organized a wide-ranging and lively series of events, spanning science, sports, entertainment, and nature walks, as part of “May 14 Pharmacy Day”. The program, brought to life through the active participation of faculty members and students, strengthened solidarity within the faculty while also providing a stage for championship success.

In the sports segment of the celebrations, the “Pharmacy Festival II Soccer Tournament”, held at the Fenerbahçe Fikirtepe Facilities between April 29 and May 8, 2026, generated great excitement. With the participation of pharmacy faculties from 12 universities across Istanbul and a series of highly competitive matches, Fenerbahçe University emerged as the champion and brought the trophy home.

On May 12, 2026, at 16:45, a Zumba event with Sıla Kılıç was held in Room F-L2-05. Students and faculty members took a fun break from their demanding course and laboratory schedules and recharged their energy through music and dance.

On May 14, 2026, at 09:30, students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, along with Founding Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ş. Güniz Küçükgüzel, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. İlkay Küçükgüzel, Vice Dean Asst. Prof. Dr. Can Akpolat, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Derya Dilek Kançağı, Director of ITUAM and Advisor to the Pharmacy Club, visited Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Kanca in her office. During this meaningful visit, held in recognition of the significance of the day, students presented the championship trophy they had won in the soccer tournament to the Rector and shared their joy. Immediately following the visit, the student delegation also visited the University Senate.

On May 14, 2026, at 11:00, students and faculty members from the Faculty of Pharmacy visited the Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden, one of Istanbul’s prominent green spaces. During the tour, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sefa Sönmez, Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Botany, accompanied the students and delivered an outdoor presentation on various plant species, medicinal plants, and their characteristics, providing detailed information. This productive and enjoyable tour concluded with a group photograph taken by the students and faculty members.

The May 14 Pharmacy Day celebrations concluded with the “Pharmastep and Picnic” event, held on May 16, 2026, at 12:00 at Maltepe Süreyya Beach. During this outdoor gathering, students and faculty members from the Faculty of Pharmacy enjoyed the fresh air and participated in various games.
