In collaboration with the Career Center and Alumni Branch Office and the Department of Nursing at the Faculty of Health Sciences, the “Nursing Department Career Summit I” was held on May 8, 2026. With the participation of approximately 80 students and faculty members, the event addressed various areas of nursing practice, career planning processes, and sectoral expectations.
In the first session of the program, Demet Gürsoy, Group Head of Human Resources at Medicana Health Group, delivered a presentation titled “CV Preparation Techniques and Interviews”. Following this, Nurse Dr. Fikriye Işık shared insights on “Core Competencies Expected of Nurses from a Public Sector Perspective”, while Specialist Nurse Ayça Öcal discussed “Core Competencies Expected of Nurses from a Private Sector Perspective”.
In the afternoon sessions, Nurse Dr. Hasret Dikici presented on “Education and R&D Nursing”, Prof. Dr. Nurhan Eren on “Psychiatric Nursing”, and Specialist Nurse Ayşe Şengel on “Home Care Nursing”. In the final part of the day, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hacer Canatan spoke on “Disaster Nursing”, Nurse Dr. Sultan Yurtsever Çelik on “Diabetes Nursing”, Asst. Prof. Dr. Eylem Toğluk Yiğitoğlu on “Stoma and Wound Care Nursing”, and Specialist Nurse Bahtıgül Kubat on “Infection Control Nursing”, sharing their expertise and experience with students.
The event, which brought together speakers from various specializations with students, aimed to contribute to nursing students’ career planning and to enhance their professional awareness. At the end of the program, certificates of appreciation were presented to the speakers in recognition of their contributions.
