Data Science and Analytics

Today, the rapid growth of data and ongoing digital transformation have made it essential for businesses to adopt data-driven approaches in their decision-making processes. Fields such as big data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and data mining provide powerful tools for organizations to achieve their strategic objectives. The emerging field of Data Science and Analytics is inherently multidisciplinary, combining mathematics, statistics, computer science, and industry practices.

Professionals who support decision-making by interpreting data are expected to have strong competencies in statistical analysis, algorithms, data modeling, big data technologies, and artificial intelligence applications. At the same time, ethical data use, security, and sustainable data management have become critical across all industries. In response to these needs, the Department of Data Science and Analytics aims to educate individuals who are not only technically proficient but also possess analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of organizational structures.

Graduates of the Data Science and Analytics Undergraduate Program will be qualified to work as data analysts, data engineers, machine learning specialists, and big data specialists in both national and international organizations across various sectors, including finance, healthcare, manufacturing, e-commerce, marketing, public services, and energy. Additionally, our graduates will be able to contribute to the industry by developing data-driven projects in areas such as entrepreneurship and R&D.

The medium of instruction in the Data Science and Analytics Department at Fenerbahçe University is Turkish. However, to ensure students are well-versed in the global data science literature, the program places strong emphasis on English technical terminology. Upon graduation, students are expected to have a solid foundation in both technical skills and industry knowledge.
