The International Week 2026 program, hosted by University of Rome Tor Vergata between 9–13 February 2026, was successfully completed as a comprehensive and multi-stakeholder academic event focusing on the economic dimension of sustainability. The program brought together 23 faculty members from 15 different universities, delivering a series of specially designed courses that addressed sustainability from an economics perspective.

Throughout the five-day event, sustainability was examined under 12 distinct thematic areas. The sessions combined theoretical frameworks with practical applications and were enriched through interactive discussions with students. The program aimed not only to sustain high-strengthen national teaching activities but also to strengthen academic networking and foster long-term collaborations.

On the final day, two separate roundtable discussions were held to evaluate the impact of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) criteria on industries and on higher education. These sessions brought together students and academics in an open and interactive format.

Dr. Ceren Soylu, faculty member of the Department of Economics and Finance at Fenerbahçe University, delivered the course titled “Economic Incentives for Acting Green” in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Nick Zubanov from the University of Konstanz.

Similarly, Dr. Bilge Çağatay from the same department conducted the course “From Global Uncertainty to Firm-Level Risk: Sustainability and Valuation” in partnership with Dr. Michal Kudej from the Prague University of Economics and Business.

During the roundtable sessions, Türkiye’s sustainability policies were presented from an industry and business perspective by Dr. Ceren Soylu and Dr. Bilge Çağatay, providing participants with valuable insights into current national practices and strategic approaches.

Through this international organization, Fenerbahçe University further strengthened its academic visibility and international promotion efforts, while also establishing a solid foundation for new partnerships and future collaborations.
