The “Course on Measurement and Evaluation in Health Professional Education”, organized by the Department of Nursing at Fenerbahçe University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, was held on February 12-13, 2026. The course aimed to enhance health professionals’ knowledge and skills in measurement and evaluation approaches within educational processes.
Held at Block F of Fenerbahçe University, the course covered methods and practices for evaluating program outcomes and course learning objectives using valid and reliable assessment tools. Participants received both theoretical and practical instruction on various assessment and evaluation techniques, including multiple-choice exam preparation, structured oral exams, rubric creation, clinical assessment tools, and performance evaluation methods.
The course was opened by Prof. Dr. Hasibe Kadıoğlu, Chair of the Department of Nursing. Educational sessions were conducted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Can Erzik, Prof. Dr. Pemra Cöbek Ünalan, Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Apaydın Kaya, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülten Okuroğlu, and Prof. Dr. Arzu Uzuner. During the training, participants had the opportunity to apply their knowledge through group work and practical sessions.
During the two-day program, OSCE/OSPE applications used in clinical training, on-the-job assessment methods such as Mini-CEX and DOPS, and contemporary assessment tools, including portfolios and progress-tracking files, were discussed in detail. Participants gained comprehensive knowledge on developing assessment tools aligned with learning objectives in health professional education and on the effective use of feedback processes.
Conducted with the active participation of faculty members and research assistants from the Department of Nursing at Fenerbahçe University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, the course aimed to promote the widespread adoption of high-quality assessment and evaluation practices in healthcare education.
