The “Clinical Mentor Nurse Training Program”, organized by the Department of Nursing at Fenerbahçe University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, was held on March 6, 2026, in the Conference Hall of Block B at Fenerbahçe University. The program aimed to develop the mentoring, communication, leadership, and evaluation skills of nurses who guide students during undergraduate clinical nursing practice.
Designed to enhance the quality of clinical practice in nursing education, the program covered key topics such as the roles and responsibilities of clinical instructors, principles of adult learning, effective communication in clinical education, ethics and patient safety, and performance evaluation processes. Participants gained comprehensive knowledge of current educational approaches to strengthen the mentoring role of nursing students during clinical training.
The program was opened by Prof. Dr. Hasibe Kadıoğlu, Chair of the Department of Nursing. Presentations were delivered by experts in their fields, including Prof. Dr. Gül Dikeç, Asst. Prof. Dr. Vildan Umur Çakar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülten Okuroğlu, Asst. Prof. Dr. Naile Akıncı, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Yağmur Şancı, who led sessions on clinical education, communication skills, ethical principles, and performance evaluation processes.
Throughout the training, participants exchanged knowledge and experiences on topics such as supporting students’ learning in clinical settings, providing feedback, managing conflicts, and conducting development-oriented assessments. Methods and tools for evaluating student performance in clinical practice were also discussed, along with approaches to enhance the overall quality of nursing education.
Organized by the Department of Nursing at Fenerbahçe University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, the program aimed to strengthen clinical practice processes in nursing education and improve student learning experiences.
