Coordinated by the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency, the panel titled “Work of the Century: The Vision for Reviving a Strong Turkey” was held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 10:00 in the Conference Hall of the Directorate’s headquarters.

Fenerbahçe University Faculty of Communication Dean Prof. Dr. Rukiye Gülay Öztürk and Vice Dean Asst. Prof. Dr. Emine Sırmalı Kayacan participated in the panel. The event, attended by academics, industry representatives, and public officials, addressed the role of communication in post-disaster processes and the importance of disaster reporting in terms of social responsibility.

During the panel, it was emphasized that accurate, ethical, and responsible journalism in times of disaster plays a critical role in providing the public with reliable information, strengthening efforts to combat misinformation, and enhancing social resilience. It was also stressed that a Disaster Journalism course should be offered as an elective in the Faculty of Communication curriculum.

The panel, which attracted significant interest from participants, concluded following discussions and evaluations.
