An online meeting of the Foreign Languages Department Education Committee was held on 19 December 2025 at 17:00, with the aim of strengthening collaboration between the English Preparatory Program and faculty departments.

The meeting was initiated under the chairmanship of Dr. Serhat Uyurkulak, Head of the Department, and conducted under the moderation of Ins. Salih Şahin, during which the opinions and feedback of the participating academic staff were systematically recorded.

During the meeting, the levels and course contents of the English Preparatory Program were discussed, and feedback was received from faculty members regarding students’ English language performance. Topics raised included students’ challenges in English for Specific Purposes (ESP), the frequent assignment of presentation tasks in faculties and whether preparatory presentation skills could be supported within the preparatory program, students’ speaking anxiety and related self-confidence issues, and observations regarding classroom language use. In addition, the use of English as a common language through social interaction between local and international students, as well as the language proficiency levels of students participating in international programs such as Erasmus, were also discussed.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Head of the Department Ins. Hüseyin Caner Canbolat, Level 1 Coordinator Ins. Burcu Gül, Level 4 Coordinator Ins. Büşra Gül, Testing and Assessment Unit Head Ins. Pelin Tekin, and PoP Coordinator Ins. Banu Sönmez.
