The Department of New Media and Communication at the Faculty of Communication hosted the “Game Trailer Production” event on January 6 in classroom B311, Block B. Kerem Doğan Karakoç, Editor-in-Chief of Save Butonu, participated as a guest speaker. The event was coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hikmet Tosyalı.

The session focused on the production process of game trailers, including a comparative evaluation of narrative and plot differences between independent game trailers and those created for large-scale productions. The speaker highlighted the importance of designing trailers for independent games with attention to atmosphere, narrative style, and emotional tone, rather than solely focusing on gameplay.

During the presentation, examples from various game trailers were shown, illustrating how editing rhythm, visual storytelling, music, and technical choices affect a trailer’s impact. Participants also received guidance on the fundamental technical elements and production stages that require careful consideration during trailer creation.

At the conclusion of the event, Ömer Faruk Öz, a student from the Department of New Media and Communication, presented the guest speaker with a certificate of appreciation.
