“If I Had a Robot Friend” Science Cafe Event Held

Organized by Fenerbahçe University’s Science Communication Office as part of its “Science Café” series, the event titled “If I Had a Robot Friend”, held in celebration of National Sovereignty and Children’s Day on April 23, took place on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Kadıköy Municipality Fenerbahçe Park Children’s Center.

Prof. Dr. Sinan Apak, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, who served as a speaker at the event, met with the children to share fun and educational information about robots and artificial intelligence. The program included content designed to encourage children to imagine robots, develop an interest in technology, and think creatively.

Throughout the event, the children had the opportunity to explore the role robots may play in the future while also expressing their own ideas about robots. The program aimed to spark curiosity about science and technology among children.
