The event titled “Intercontinental Journey: Being a Nurse in Australia”, organized by the Fenerbahçe University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing (Turkish) Program, was successfully held with great interest from students.
Held on December 22, 2025, the event comprehensively addressed the international dimension of the nursing profession, covering topics such as nursing in Australia, equivalency and the AHPRA process, language proficiency requirements (IELTS/OET), visa types, working conditions, salaries, and nursing rights. In addition, up-to-date information on the Permanent Residency (PR) process after graduation was shared with participants.
The event, which reached more than one hundred students both in person and online, attracted significant interest. By shedding light on international career planning, it enabled students to evaluate their post-graduation options more consciously.
The program was hosted by Research Assistant Öznur Balkan, and the guest speaker was Hüseyin Alkaş, a nurse with international experience. The event concluded in a dynamic atmosphere with students’ questions and interactive discussions.
It is planned that such events, which aim to broaden the professional vision of nursing students and raise awareness of global health systems, will continue in the coming periods.
