A masterclass and workshop themed “The End of Traditional Media and the Data Power of New Media” was held by the Department of New Media and Communication at Fenerbahçe University’s Faculty of Communication, in collaboration with G&Y Social Media.
Featuring G&Y Social Media Co-Founder Eyyüp Elensari Yaşar as the speaker, the program addressed data-driven content production in the new media ecosystem, digital crisis storytelling, and strategic communication approaches. Coordinated by Research Assistant Buse Erel, the event provided participants with an opportunity to gain a conceptual and strategic framework regarding current media dynamics. As part of the program, theoretical and industry-specific insights were shared on new media strategies, including “hook” psychology, global agenda forecasting, concept development tailored to crises, and AI-supported “faceless” content creation.
In the workshop segment, participants were presented with a crisis scenario brief, received comprehensive information about the process, and were guided on the methods to be followed during the practical application phase. During the event held on March 11, 2026, in Room B210 of Block B, students gained an industry perspective on digital crisis communication and data-driven content production and had the opportunity to prepare for the workshop process.
