“Storytelling in Cinema” Event Held by the Faculty of Communication

The event titled “Storytelling in Cinema,” organized by the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at the Faculty of Communication of Fenerbahçe University, was held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 14:00 in Classroom B Block 213.

Moderated by Prof. Dr. Oya Şakı Aydın, Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, the event featured Prof. Dr. Ala Sivas Gülçur as the guest speaker. With extensive academic and professional experience in the field of cinema, Gülçur shared with participants the fundamental dynamics of storytelling in cinema, narrative structures, and the distinctive modes of expression of cinematic language.

Held as part of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema’s ongoing guest speaker series, the event provided students with the opportunity to gain direct insight and perspective from an experienced figure in the field. Such gatherings, which address both the artistic and technical dimensions of storytelling, were considered to make a significant contribution to students’ professional development and to the deepening of their cinematic thinking.
