The Faculty of Architecture and Design Held Its Academic Council Meeting

The Academic Council of the Faculty of Architecture and Design convened on October 1, 2025, under the chairmanship of Dean Prof. Dr. Derya Oktay.

The meeting was attended by faculty members and research assistants. Prof. Dr. Oktay shared her views on education and teaching, as well as the approaches and policies to be adopted to enhance the quality of education within the faculty’s departments, drawing on her previous academic and administrative experience. In this context, she emphasized the importance of focusing on quality and benefit in all areas, such as education, horizontal and vertical course coordination, regular coordination of design studios, objective evaluations and juries, publication efforts, and the coordination of part-time teaching staff, and on making achievements visible. She also indicated the relevant plans and expectations in these areas.

During the meeting, faculty members from the Departments of Architecture and Interior Architecture and Environmental Design exchanged views, identifying both challenges and opportunities. With the full support of all members, it was decided to prioritize “sustainability” and “adaptation to digital transformation and production technologies” in the faculty’s vision.

The meeting concluded with Prof. Dr. Oktay extending her best wishes for a successful academic term.
